Where is the tow path?

The towpath alongside the river Cam is clearly visible as you travel from Baits Bite Lock along to Jesus Lock, now used by cyclists, walkers and runners rather than horses. It slowly disappears as the University buildings rise up and border the water and the land either side is inaccessible to the public. Sometimes known as the middle river, this section has the unusual feature of a slightly submerged towpath to enable horses to pull their barges from the centre of the river without walking on the land.
